Reaping
"While the years are swiftly passing,
As we watch them come and go,
Do we realize the maxim,
'We must reap what'er we sow'?
When the past comes up before us,
All our thoughts, our acts, our deeds,
Shall they glean for us fair roses,
Or a harvest bear of weeds?
Are we sowing seeds of blossom?
We shall reap, some day, somewhere,
Just what here we have been sowing,
Worthless weeds or roses fair.
All around us, whispering ever,
Hear the voice of nature speak,
Teaching all the selfsame lesson,
'As you sow so shall you reap.' " —Elizabeth B. Zachariasen.

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not." Galatians 6:6-9.

Be Still

"Be still, my fainting heart,
God ruleth yet above;
Do faithfully thy part,
Trust His protecting love.

Though trusting tempest may run wild,
And black the storm-cloud grow,

This trusting faith doth know.

In all the battle din;
Rest in the One divine,
And resting, thou shalt win."  — Francis M. Wilcox

You Will Never Be Passed By

"Did ever anyone lift [his] hands to Jesus and say, "Save, Lord, or I perish," and He pass [him] by? Never, never! He is a Jesus that hears the faintest cry. We need none of us faint or cry or be discouraged. We need not faint, for like Peter, we may look to the darkness and trials around us. . . . The Lord took the hand of Peter and he was saved. “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10.

The Master Secret

"And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you." Matthew 17:20.

Songs in The Night

"I have read of a little bird that while his cage is full of light never sings the songs his master would teach him. He will listen, and learn a snatch of this, a trill of that, but never a separate and entire melody.
But the master covers his cage, and then, in the dark, he listens to the one song he is to sing. He tries and tries again to sing that song, until it is learned, and he breaks forth in perfect melody; and then the cage is uncovered, and ever after he can sing it in the light.
Thus God deals with His creatures. He has a song to teach us, and when we have learned it amid the deep shadows of affliction, we can sing it ever afterward."—RH

"I call to remembrance my song in the night: I commune with mine own heart: and my spirit made diligent search. Will the Lord cast off for ever? and will he be favourable no more?
Is his mercy clean gone for ever? doth his promise fail for evermore? Hath God forgotten to be gracious? hath he in anger shut up his tender mercies? Selah.
And I said, This is my infirmity: but I will remember the years of the right hand of the most High. I  will remember the works of the LORD: surely I will remember thy wonders of old.
I will meditate also of all thy work, and talk of thy doings." Psalms 77:6-12.

"Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah." Psalms 32:7.

  Precious Bible Promises for You!

Build Your Own Monument!

“If we keep uppermost in our minds the unkind and unjust acts of others we shall find it impossible to love them as Christ has loved us; but if our thoughts dwell upon the wondrous love and pity of Christ for us, the same spirit will flow out to others. We should love and respect one another, notwithstanding the faults and imperfections that we cannot help seeing. Humility and self-distrust should be cultivated, and a patient tenderness with the faults of others. This will kill out all narrowing selfishness and make us largehearted and generous.

“Cultivate respect for yourself because you are Christ's purchased possession. Success in the formation of right habits, advancement in that which is noble and just, will give you an influence that all will appreciate and value. Live for something besides self. If your motives are pure and unselfish, if you are ever looking for work to do, if you are always on the alert to show kindly attentions and do courteous deeds, you are unconsciously building your own monument.” Daughters of God, 143-144.

"In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old."  Isaiah 63:9

“The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love: therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee.” Jeremiah 31:3.

"And the Lord, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed." Deuteronimy 31:8.

Don't Demerit Yourself!

“It is the privilege of everyone to so live that God will approve and bless him. You may be hourly in communion with Heaven; it is not the will of your heavenly Father that you should ever be under condemnation and darkness. It is not pleasing to God that you should demerit yourself. You should cultivate self-respect by living so that you will be approved by your own conscience, and before men and angels. It is not an evidence of true humility that you go with your head bowed down, and your heart filled with thoughts of self. It is your privilege to go to Jesus and be cleansed, and to stand before the law without shame and remorse. ‘There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.’ While we should not think of ourselves more highly than we ought, the Word of God does not condemn a proper self-respect. As sons and daughters of God, we should have a conscious dignity of character, in which pride and self-importance have no part.” —Daughters of God, page 142.

Do You Have Some Pent Up Anger?

"The blessing of God is a healing power, and those who are abundant in benefiting others will realize that wondrous blessing in both heart and life." Mind, Character and Personality, Vol. 1, page 60.

"Hard words beat upon the heart through the ear, awakening to life the worst passions of the soul and tempting men and women to break God's commandments. . . .Words are as seeds that are planted." Ibid. page 518.

Some people carry with them through their lives the memory of hateful words that were spoken to them, even in childhood. They resent the cruelty of those words and carry a painful burden that makes their lives bitter. Those burning words, spoken so long ago, and perhaps completely forgotten by the person who spoke them, have been recalled over and over again, until the soul is bowed down with trauma.
If you have had such an experience, let it go! Release it to the Lord and let Him take care of it and of those who hurt you. Go free in the grace of a loving Savior!
