"Lo, I am with you alway." Matthew 28:20.

There's a promise whose gladness will ever
cheer my heart in its hours of pain;
That those who love Jesus will never
Seek His presence and blessing in vain.
When the flames of affliction are highest,
And the soul is compassed with fear,
It is then that the Saviour is nightest,
And angels of comfort draw near.


"The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken." Psalms 34:17-20.

"For thou wilt save the afflicted people; but wilt bring down high looks." Psalms 18:27.

"Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy." James 5:11.
